When the Alliance to Save Energy conducted consumer market research on this issue a few months ago, drivers told us that they would like to get money-saving gas tips and information on radio when they are driving and most attuned to gas prices as they confront them at every turn.

You can help your listeners save hundreds of dollars on gasoline with this new information worth talking about on your radio show:

The Alliance to Save Energy, the Wal-Mart Foundation, and 16 other partners recently launched a compelling, interactive, national Drive $marter Challenge website and campaign to help ease consumers’ pain at the pump.

The Drive $marter Challenge website -- http://www.drivesmarterchallenge.org/-- is the ONLY website where drivers can find out exactly how many hundreds of dollars they can save annually on gasoline with their specific vehicle by taking six easy driving and maintenance actions. And they can find this out up front just by entering their basic vehicle data (make, model, year, cylinders).

The website calculates savings in dollars, gallons, and CO2 emissions of all who choose to take the challenge (take 1-6 actions) and also keeps a running tally of cumulative savings of all who have taken the challenge.

The website also provides extensive money-saving gas tips in English and Spanish, helpful resources (renting a fuel-efficient car, finding cheaper gas near your home and on your vacation route, public transportation options wherever you go), and myth busters.

Sex and The City was number one! You're suprised aren't you?
